About the Journal
Lex Dogana is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal established to foster high-quality research in customs law, administrative law, and public governance.
The journal serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas among academics, practitioners, and policymakers interested in the legal, institutional, and policy frameworks that shape customs administration, public service, and trade regulation in a global context.
Founded in 2025, Lex Dogana aspires to integrate Ukrainian and international scholarly discourse by publishing original research articles, review papers, and case studies with a strong comparative and interdisciplinary dimension.
Aims and Scope
The journal welcomes submissions on topics including but not limited to:
- legal regulation of customs administration and public service;
- administrative law, public governance, and anti-corruption frameworks;
- customs policy and trade facilitation in the context of EU integration;
- comparative studies on public service and customs institutions;
- case law analysis and legal doctrines relevant to customs law and governance.
We encourage contributions that provide an international and comparative perspective, introduce innovative legal concepts, and offer solutions to contemporary challenges faced by customs authorities and public institutions.
Editorial and Peer-Review Policy
All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer-review by at least two independent experts to ensure originality, scholarly quality, and relevance.
The editorial team and advisory board include researchers and practitioners from leading universities and institutions in Ukraine and abroad.
Publication Frequency
Lex Dogana is published quarterly (March, June, September, and December). This regular schedule ensures a steady flow of peer-reviewed research and timely academic dialogue. In addition to the regular issues, the journal may publish special issues devoted to particular themes, emerging topics, or conference proceedings.
Open Access Policy
All published content is freely available in accordance with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.
Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles without prior permission from the publisher or author.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided that the original work is properly cited.
Archiving and Preservation
The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and supports LOCKSS/CLOCKSS systems to ensure long-term preservation.
Publication Fees
Lex Dogana does not charge article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees, ensuring equal opportunities for scholars worldwide.
Indexing and Identifiers
Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
The journal is working towards inclusion in ERIH PLUS, DOAJ, and other international indexing databases.
Languages of Publication
Articles are accepted in English, French, Polish, Italian, Spanish, Ukrainian. Submissions must include an abstract in English.
